What is Telecine anyway? And what makes Tobin machines better? |
|
What is telecine? It means transforming photographic movie (cine as in cinema) film into something electronic that you can watch on your television set (tele). Since movie projectors and TV sets run at different rates, it has to be done properly to not introduce flicker and other artifacts into the picture.
Tobin Video Transfer “TVT” machines are self contained. They combine a projector, optical system and quality video camera in one compact unit as in the Elmo TRVs, with improved resolution and a brighter picture. Selected models have automatic exposure control, footage counter for argument-free billing, no tricky alignments by the user, frame by frame emulsion side scanning in real time with no computer required and no need to run dead slow, an enlarged gate, etc. 3-CCD camera upgrade option is available on many. Connect to your DVD, MiniDV or VHS recorder and go! Or, connect to a computer if you wish. Unlike some equipment out there, your new TVT includes a brand new camera with one year warranty included in the price.
Already have a transfer business? Dump those dated, probably worn-out Elmo Transvideo TRV and Goko machines and get a better, more clear picture. Dump that agonizingly slow, computer-dependent gear also, as many companies have done, and earn $80-$160+ per hour * with minimum fuss and maximum efficiency by running in real time! Count the money while the competition is still waiting for computer rendering of the extra pass of the film’s file just to correct the speed.
We suggest you make Tobin Cinema Systems your telecine equipment supplier. For decades we have made well regarded motion picture equipment such as crystal camera motors and speed controls. For several years now we have been making well regarded crystal controlled video transfer equipment, with over 400 systems sold worldwide in NTSC (USA) or PAL (European) video standards.
TECHNICAL BREAKTHROUGH! Our newest 8mm sound and silent telecine models run at absolutely precise quartz crystal controlled 18.000 and 24.000 FPS (Frames Per Second) speeds without objectionable flicker. We are the only source for this advancement unless you spend a King’s ransom! And our super-8 audio is in perfect sync, unlike much more expensive European units where the head is in the wrong place so the sound is a few seconds removed from matching the corresponding picture. Our Dual-8 sprocketless silent models run typically shrunken 8mm film without difficulty, unlike some. The pulldown claw design principle assures a steady picture, unlike others where the picture floats up and down.
NEW! COLOR CORRECTION ABILITY Tweak the optional 3CCD camera’s picture to your heart’s delight, by plugging in the accessory Hitachi RC-Z3 or RC-Z21A remote control unit, available from pro video sources. Or, computer experts can do RS-232 control. Either way, the total price is a fraction of that of others, and we all use the same Hitachi HV-D30/HV-D30P camera. (Our 3CCD models have always been able to accept the remote control units, needing just a cable clearance hole added to the optics cover.)
NEW! HIGH DEFINITION TELECINE - In Development
* This is only an estimate, assuming you adequately promote your business.
