Ordering From Tobin Cinema Systems, Inc.
Ordering Hours:
The best time to reach us is 10:00 AM to 2:45 PM Pacific time, Monday through Thursday. We can generally ship in-stock items the same day if you order before noon Pacific time. Our shipping department leaves work at 3:00. Note that Pacific time is 3 hours earlier than Eastern, 8 hours earlier than Greenwich (UK) and we think 8 hours later than Japan time.
Sending a Fax:
Our fax (facsimile) number is the same as our telephone number. If your fax machine is modern, with CNG (calling beeps,) it should connect automatically to ours. If it does not, dial touch-tone ** (star star) rapidly two or more times after the call is answered and that should start ringing our fax machine. If that doesn't work, fax during our normal hours and we can change over to fax at our end.
Shipping Methods:
We normally ship UPS or DHL at the chart rate plus $3 pickup charge. $5 handling charge for USPS or FedEx shipments, or $15 for the waiting in long lines holiday season. We normally insure or register for full value. NOTE: It is no longer permitted to send batteries or battery belts through the post office, presumably because they look like bombs to X-ray.
Terms of Payment:
Cashier's check or money order in advance, or C.O.D. (CC or MO collected on delivery, only from established customers.)
We will accept Purchase Orders from schools with an excellent payment history and we expect to be paid within 30 days of invoice date. If your school cannot comply we require credit card payment.
Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express cards are accepted, subject to verification, and are charged just before shipment. Billing address must be the same as the ship-to address. We also accept Paypal (to a Paypal verified address, with signature confirmation required on delivery on shipments of $250 or more.) Paypal may have limits or restrictions depending on your country. Sorry but we are unable to process Debit cards if they need your PIN number entered.
Prices are in U.S. dollars and shipping charges and insurance are extra. Items shipped to, or picked up in, Washington State and Indiana are subject to 8.6% and 7% tax respectively on the purchases plus on the shipping.
Returns must be approved in advance. Non-recoverable items such as postage, insurance, handling, tax and 3-4% bank card charge fees are not refundable. If returned items are not in like-new salable condition, reconditioning charges will be made, a discount will be levied for the benefit of the next purchaser, or the return will be refused, at our option. The purchaser must film test the equipment, and notify TCS of any problems, within 7 days of receipt. Returns will not be accepted after 14 days, or for modified or discontinued or special order items, or to be in effect a free loan of equipment.
Foreign Orders:
Send an international money order, or ask us to charge on your credit card. Please do not use bank wire transfer unless necessary; this can take days or weeks, the bank does not notify us when it arrives, and the wired amount never agrees with the amount requested, which causes confusion. We cannot accept checks drawn on non-USA banks as these can take months to clear.
